Question of the week
I forgot to hand in my Flying Blue card for all my flights ... ever. How long after I've flown will they add my points. And how do I do it? - SJ, Nairobi, Kenya.
Your question has impeccable timing, SJ.
Flying Blue - the amalgamated loyalty scheme for Air France-KLM - underwent a serious bout of 'enhancement' on April 1 this year, with earning rates falling and redemption costs increasing. You may want to think twice before expending the effort.
You have six months from the date of your flight in which to claim miles, which can be done by looking for the 'Claim Missing Miles' link after you've logged in to the KLM website. You'll certainly need your ticket number (it probably begins 057 or 074), and should be prepared for your boarding card stubs to make a long and fruitless journey to Paris. You did keep your boarding cards, didn't you?
In the future, try make sure your Flying Blue membership number is entered at the time of booking (you can do this easily if you book online at KLM). Your life will be so much easier.
