A Basque friend of mine has just stuck her head into the lion's mouth. She has covered herself in petrol and is about to strike a match. She is, in-short, playing with fire.
On her way to the Basque Country, she will change flights at Stansted Airport. Not in a nice, step-this-way-to-the-flight-connections-centre-madam fashion like they show you in the adverts, but on her own. From easyJet to Ryanair. With a baby.
If you've never run the gauntlet of a loco connection before, you probably don't know the feeling of terror that it engenders.
Good luck, Jo.

Before having a baby, I usually aimed to get to check-in 5 minutes before it closed, I now find myself at the airport 3 hours before check-in opens. Travelling with the ticking time bomb that is a baby really makes for a nervous journey - mainly because you're scared of annoying people.
Add to this a connection (we were connected by BA from Heathrow to Gatwick at a cost of an additional £32) and it's enough to make you want to just stay at home. I've never connected with different airlines, but when a connection with the same airline causes you such stress, I wouldn't like to be in Jo's shoes...
Thanks for your comments, Ed.
BA used to offer the coach transfer for free, I believe, but even then it's still a faff if you have luggage and/ or babies.
